About the Practitioner

 

Katy Keyes graduated from the Savannah School of Massage Therapy in 2001.  She worked for 18 years as a Massage Therapist at Memorial University Medical Center.  In 2008, she began training as a yoga instructor in the 200 hour program through the Savannah Yoga Center.  She completed her 500 hr training at Holistic Yoga Therapy Institute in December 2015.  She is also a certified Personal Fitness Trainer through AFAA.

Katy continues to expand her knowledge and technique through continuing education.  Since her graduation from massage therapy school, Katy has furthered her training in Ayurvedic massage, Myoskeletal, Table-Thai, and Corrective Bodywork.

Katy is currently licensed as a massage therapist through the state of Georgia (MT 001582).  She is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher at the E-500 hour level. She teaches Functional Yoga, focusing on individually appropriate movement and breath awareness. Additionally, she offers private Yoga sessions for educational and therapeutic purposes.  She is a NASM Stretching and Flexibility Coach and Certified Vocal Yoga Instructor.  She has studied therapeutic yoga practices with David Keil, Roger Cole, Carol Krucoff, Heather Lyle, and Tari Prinster.  She is certified as a Yoga Therapist through the International Yoga Therapists Association.

She teaches Gentle and Chair Yoga at the JEA, and is on the Teacher Training staff at Savannah Yoga Center.
